Bagels have a very special place in my heart. Those beautiful circles of dough at times can act as my blanket when it’s cold out, my pillow to cry on when I’m sad, and even my bff when I’m feeling happy.
That’s the kind of relationship(s) I have with bagels.
But around here, it’s not always easy to find a good bagel.
You can find big bagels at Uncommon Grounds, but those are a little too doughy and sweet for me.
You can also find tiny, chewy bagels from Brueggers. But yeah, those are a little too chewy for me.
So where can you get the closest thing to a NYC bagel without the 3 hour drive? One answer: Wired.
Wired Coffee and Bagels in Malta, NY is my go-to when I need a one-on-one with a bagel sandwich. I actually love them so much, I’m willing to spend 1 hour boxing on a Saturday morning just to reward myself afterwards with one of their bagel sandwiches.
That is literally perfection. Not only did this particular sandwich make for a gorgeous photo (minus my gross thumb), but look at that ratio of cheese, bacon, egg and bagel? OMG.
When you get a breakfast sandwich, is there really any other cheese better than the melty-ness of a few slices of American cheese? Never.
I’m personally drawn to the everything bagels. But really any of the bagels at Wired make me happy inside.
Do yourself a favor and get yourself one of these bagel sandwiches. And while you’re at it, get a nitro coffee. That combo = my bliss.

how is their veggie cream cheese and smoked salmon?
I still like Bruegger’s the best. Particularly the size!
They also have a gluten free, vegan bagel that is pretty darn close to the real deal! Trust me, having been diagnosed with celiac disease over 6 years ago, its been a disappointing search until now! Nothing comes close to this bagel that Wired carries!
I just went there and ate the same thing based on your recommendation that I’d remembered, and OMG. How will I live without eating this every day now?!
