Pitney’s Fire Feast Returns on August 1

July 23, 2023

Anyone who’s been following me for years knows about my love for Pitney Meadows Community Farm. I mean, after all… I got married there. Twice.

I’m sure I’ve shared this before, but the first night I fell head over heels for this little community farm tucked right in the heart of Saratoga Springs was at the very first Fire Feast back in 2017. I actually find it hard to believe it was that long ago! But I digress…

I’m excited to share that the Fire Feast is BACK this year, taking place on Tuesday, August 1st from 6-9pm right at Pitney Meadows (223 West Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866).

But WHAT is this Fire Feast that I won’t shut up about??

The event is brilliant – you get to watch as local chefs prepare a variety of dishes over one of Pitney’s many open-fire pits, utilizing fresh picked produce from their fields along with locally-sourced meats and ingredients.

To be honest, the vision for my wedding was basically built around the concept of the fire feast, and had it not been for our friend COVID, I had every intention of carrying out the open-fire pit/cooking in front of guests-vibe because it’s just that cool.

There’s also live music, a silent auction, open bar, and hayrides through their fields. What’s better? 100% of the proceeds from the event go straight back into the community garden, the farm, agricultural education, food security, and farm-to-school programs.

This year has a pretty stellar lineup of guest chefs, including Chef AJ Richards of [farmacy] restobar in Glens Falls; Private Chef Brandon Schatko of Ballston Spa; Private Chef Eric Hudson of Fort Edward; Chef Kevin London of Farmhouse Food in Saratoga Springs; Chef Rose Contadino of Mangiamo in Saratoga Springs; and Chef Stacy Tecler of Stacy’s Scratch Kitchen in Broadalbin, plus more! Check out the full list of chefs on their website.

Tickets are on sale and this event is typically sold out, so I’d recommend securing your tickets asap before you miss your chance. To purchase tickets, click here.

I hope to see you there on August 1st! Oh, and be sure to come on an empty stomach.
