With just a little over a week before one of the best events in Saratoga (Chowderfest), I’m sure many of you are wondering how you can contain your excitement. Good news for you is that I have the answer! This Saturday, January 26th is the 2nd Annual Chili Bowl at the Saratoga Clay Arts Center.
Local clay artists are making over 1000 bowls for this event and there will be five “celebrity chefs” that will be competing for your vote for best chili! Here are the participating chefs:
- Ali Benamti from Henry Street Taproom
- Sean Comiskey from Druthers
- Ray Morris from Lillian’s Restaurant
- Alicia Bevan from Putnam Market
- Jasper Alexander from Hattie’s (2012 Defending Chili Bowl Champion)
Interested in going? For just $15 for a handmade bowl and $1 for admission, you will have the opportunity to taste test and vote for “best chili” and support the efforts of your favorite chef. Another great note is that for every vote that’s received, $7.50 will be donated to the charity chosen by the chef. Additionally, the Schuylerville Area Food and Emergency Relief Fund, Franklin Community Center, Slow Foods Saratoga Region, Saratoga Lions Club and Upstate New York/Vermont Chapter Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will benefit from the proceeds of this event.
