Love it or hate it, Chowderfest is this Saturday, February 11th. A day filled with dairy, day drinking, and disposable cups only comes once a year, and for that, my stomach is thankful.
As usual, I’ve perused the full list of participating restaurants and their chowder of choice, and here are my top picks that you should consider lining up for:
Cantina: Birria Chowder – Birria is all the rage right now, so I’m super intrigued to see how they do it in chowder-form.
Comfort Kitchen: Chipotle Chicken Corn Chowder – Forever on my chowderfest list, they always have a great chowder and I’m sure this year will be no different!
Dizzy Chicken Wood Fired Rotisserie: Brazilian Smoked Seafood Chowder – Every time I have had anything smoked at Dizzy Chicken, it’s been excellent, so I have high hopes for this one.
Druthers Brewing Company: Shrimp, Crab and Corn Chowder with a Lobster Hush Puppy – Um hi, lobster hush puppy. What are the chances I can pay extra for double pups?
Eddie F’s Eatery: Lobster Clam Chowder – If there’s one place I want lobster chowder from, it’s Eddie F’s.
Karavalli Regional Cuisine of India: Mulligatawny – I may be partial here, but I order this soup from them literally every time, and it’s so so good. It’s also vegan and gluten free.
The Local Pub and Teahouse: Mexican street corn chowder topped with a jalapeno popper (available in gluten free) – They had me at Mexican street corn… and then jalapeno popper.
To see the full list of participating restaurants and what they’ll be serving, visit Discover Saratoga. In case you didn’t attend last year, please note that restaurants will now be serving 4 oz. samples of chowder for $2 to event goers.
Lastly, I hope you all stay safe, be smart, and have fun!
