In an effort to mend my broken heart after losing my dog, I’ve been trying to scope out some of the best comfort food in the area. Instead of sticking within the Saratoga Springs restaurants, I made my first move to Clifton Park, NY for some Vietnamese Food at Saigon Spring.
Now, this was only my second time visiting Saigon Spring, but let me tell you… it’s definitely worth the drive.
Whether you’re heart broken or not, their food will bring a smile to your face, and comfort you on any type of day.
While their menu has tons of options from traditional Vietnamese Pho to heartier entrees like Shaking Beef and Chicken Claypot, for me, there’s nothing that screams comfort more than soup. And trust me, I’ve been eating a lot of it lately.
So it might sound lame, but I ordered the Chicken Noodle Soup with rice noodles, which was basically a traditional pho with chicken.
This was so much more than “chicken noodle soup.”
This soup was everything you’d want from a chicken soup and so much more. The broth was outrageously flavorful, the chicken tasted like it has been soaking up those juices for hours, and having the option to add in thai basil, jalapenos, and bean sprouts (which are brought out separately) is a huge bonus.
So if you’re looking to try something new or you just want to comfort yourself with some really delicious food, get in the car and take a quick drive to Clifton Park. You won’t regret it.

If you haven’t been, Sushi Na Ra, which I believe may be in the same shopping center as Saigon Spring is my favorite sushi place in the area. I like the sushi in Saratoga and still I drive down to CP for this place regularly. Try the kimchee avocado roll!
Gotta get back there. Obsessed with Pho. Phila Fusion’s has been much better of late, but need to sample some more.
