Well, after my appearance on TWC News launched me into super-stardom on Friday, I had to keep my word by attempting to try 20 chowders this year once again for Chowderfest.
And guess what? I did ONE BETTER. 21 chowders by 2pm on Saturday. BOOM.
To say I felt like death by the end of the day would be an understatement. It was extreme and painful, and while I love allowing those who choose not to attend Chowderfest to live vicariously through me, I think it’s time I retire from my 20 chowder goal.
The winners of Chowderfest were as follows:
People’s Choice: Gaffneys
People’s Choice under 1,000 bowls: Dock Browns
Most Chowder Served: Druthers
Best On Broadway: Thirsty Owl
Best Off Broadway: West Side Stadium
Best Non Downtown: Dock Browns
Best Newcomer: Carson’s Tavern
Best Dessert Chowder: TC Paris
Unfortunately, I didn’t make it to any of the places on this list besides Druthers, but I did think that Park Side Eatery deserved to make this list. That chowder was bomb.
Anyway, here’s a look at my day in photos! Enjoy!

Boca was one of my favorites, Just as Seven Horse always is, that fried cornbread man….I’m sad that I didn’t make it to Chianti, Dock Browns, or Parkside. Love the pictures!
Peabody’s was really great – the favorite in our group!
