It’s cold, it’s snowing and all I want is a cup of soup. But where should I go? That’s a question I often have a difficult time finding the right answer to, but the best option is always right under my nose. On Saturday, it pretty much snowed from 9am until 2am Sunday morning. I ran some serious errands in the morning and by lunch time, I was ready for a big cup of soup and a hefty sandwich. After some serious thought, I knew exactly where I wanted to go. When it comes to coffee, I immediately think of Uncommon Grounds in Saratoga, but sometimes my memory forgets about the amazing soups and sandwiches that are made in this fine establishment.
After looking at the seven generous soup options they had to offer, I went with the grilled chicken and corn chowder.
Aside from the chicken and corn, this soup had chunks of red and green peppers which added some nice color and another kick of flavor. This soup was exactly what I was looking for to warm me up and fill my belly. Another thing I love about the soup selection at Uncommon Grounds is that they have different soups every day so you never know what you’re going to get.
It was about this time last year that I tried the Uncommon Grounds chicken salad for the first time. It was love at first site… or taste, and since then, I haven’t really been able to order anything else on their bagels.
Look for yourself:
A little lettuce, tomato and onion and BOOM – you’ve got a dynamite sandwich that will fill you up for the rest of the day all for under $7. As much as I love the chicken salad, I REALLY love the everything bagels. These bagels are not only huge but they are without a doubt the best in Saratoga.
Next time you walk past Uncommon Grounds on Broadway and you think it’s just a coffee joint, think again. I beg you all to get in there some time soon and if you haven’t tried it already, get one of their bagel sandwiches and soup. Whether it’s chicken salad or not, your day and the rest of your life will be sosososo much better once you do.
