There’s a ton of stuff happening in the next couple of weeks, and I wanted to take a moment to outline the ones this weekend so you have the chance to hit up at least one of them.
So without further chatter from me, here’s what’s up this weekend:
The 6th Annual Chili Bowl – Saturday, January 28
I personally have three really cool and unique bowls in my pantry from the past three years I’ve attended this event. You see, with the entry fee of $15, you don’t just get to sample five different chili’s, but you also get to choose a bowl that was handmade at Saratoga Clay Arts Center to eat from and then take home! It’s a pretty sweet concept, and the chili is always really good.
There are five time slots to choose from, and to keep the crowds under control (because the space isn’t super big), they only sell 200 bowls per chili per time slot.
Time Slots:
- 11:00AM – 12:00PM – Sold Out
- 12:00PM – 1:00PM – Sold Out
- 1:00PM – 2:00PM – Sold Out
- 2:00PM – 3:00PM
- 3:00PM – 4:00PM
As of now, only the two latest time slots are available. To preorder, click here.
Ice Bar at The Sagamore (All Weekend)
Have you heard about the ice bar at The Sagamore? It’s a thing, and it’s actually exactly how it sounds. 18,000 pounds of hand-carved, crystal-clear ice will be on display at the Veranda Top Terrace, featuring a chilling bar, ice bar stools (with furs to keep you dry) and of course, hand-crafted cocktails.
Here are the times it’ll be open this weekend:
- January 27 – 29
- Friday: 4pm – 10pm
- Saturday: 12pm – 10pm
- Sunday: 12pm – 4pm

Chili Cook-Off at the Spa City Farmers’ Market – Sunday, January 29th
If chili is your thing, save room after Saturday because you’ll want to hit up the Spa City Farmers’ Market for an encore on Sunday. The event is free to attend, and all you have to pay for is the actual chili samples!
This goes from 11am-2pm inside the Lincoln Bath House at the Spa State Park. For more information, click here.
Of course as you all know, the great annual Chowderfest is next weekend. So why not get your stomachs full of chili and beverages this weekend and give yourself the week to prepare for lots of chowdahhhhh next weekend.
